Happenings 2016

Every week during the spring and summer, come on down to the Square for fitness classes to get your body movin’, music with DJ Creeasian, the Live at Lunch series, and live art, and more!

Summer programming is as follows:

MondaysZumba on the Square, 12:00-1:00pm


Live at Lunch – Drawing on the Square with facilitators from the AGA , 11:30am -1:00pm 

Outdoor Yoga, 12:30-1:30pm


Churchill Circuit – a full body workout utilizing the environment, 12:00-1:00pm

Lightsaber Training with Janine Waddell Hodder
Kids – 7:00-7:45pm
Adults – 7:00-8:30pm 


Live at Lunch featuring local musicians, 11:30am -1:00pm

Outdoor Yoga, 12:30-1:30pm

CypherWild with Creeasian – breakdancing, live street art and mc battles, 6:00-9:00pm

FridaysZumba on the Square, 12:00-1:00pm
Plus daily
Table tennis, basketball, ball hockey, giant checkers, giant chess and more!


The Edmonton Arts Council (EAC), in partnership with the City of Edmonton, programs activity and event Happenings in Sir Winston Churchill Square for casual and day-to-day public use between major festivals and civic events.

Since August 2011, EAC Churchill Square Happenings programmer, Bob Rasko, has produced a diverse schedule of offerings open to the public including: Sunday Swing 'n Skate, Game On street hockey, Rush Hour Wednesdays, Live at Lunch, and Zumba on the Square. 

Getting there: Sir Winston Churchill Square is easily accessible by bus and LRT.  Visit www.takeETS.com for route and schedule information.
