Winter Light Festival 2009 was an inaugural event whose guiding themes were to create new winter programs/events, and support existing winter festival and major events that would appeal to a wide range of people. The events were to be free and accessible and to promote “winter-positive” messages about Edmonton.
Beginning on January 8 and ending on March 21, 2009, Winter Light produced 9 events, supported 3 existing winter festival events, 1 City winter event, and produced 15 community workshops..
