Calls to Artists
Applications are open for the 2022 CreateSpace Public Art Residency, a national public art program designed to provide emerging Black, Indigenous (First Nations, Inuit and Métis) and racialized artists with the skills, relationships and practical experiences needed to build and advance public art practices. Apply by January 31.

SNAP has issues a call for contributors for the next issue of SNAPline, 2022.1: Repair edition. Submit by February 1. 

Good Women Dance Collective is accepting submissions for their Creative Incubator series, a week-long creation workshop facilitated by local dance and theatre artist Amber Borotsik. The Creative Incubator is free and open to all disciplines. Submit by February 3.

The International Festival of Winter Cinema is pairing Canadian and international filmmakers with those from the community to share knowledge and experience, and expand their national or international networks through BESPOKE ONE-ON-ONE OR SMALL GROUP VIRTUAL LEARNING SESSIONS. If you are a member of Alberta's film community and would like to be a part of this opportunity, email Wyatt Campbell, IFWC Admin Intern at IFWCCommunication@gmail.com by February 3, expressing interest along with some of your key skills or knowledge goals. 

RISER Edmonton has issued a call for applications for its 2023 program. Apply by Feb. 4. 

The Art Gallery of St. Albert encourages First Nations, Métis and Inuit artists, artist groups, and curators who are interested in exhibiting in the 2023 calendar year to submit an Expression of Interest. Submit by February 16.  

Nextfest is now accepting submissions for musical artists and bands, for the 2022 Festival. Apply by February 28. 

Parks Canada Agency and the Whyte Museum of the Canadian Rockies seek up to three Indigenous Artists to create temporary mural paintings, to be displayed on the grounds at Cave and Basin National Historic Site. Apply by March 4.

Play the Fool Theatre Festival has issued a call for live acts (Canadian physical performers, clowns, and comedic character actors). Apply by March 18.

Audition Notices
The Lobbyist performing ensemble is holding auditions for emerging performers comfortable exploring site specific, highly physical and multidisciplinary work. This year the Lobbyist performing ensemble will be working with Sophie Healey and Expanse Outreach Coordinator Amber Borotsik to create and perform site specific pieces as a part of the Expanse Festival. Auditions will be Fri, Jan 28th from 4pm to 8pm, and Sat, Jan 29th from 11am to 3pm. Submit by January 26.
