Calls to Artists
The Citadel Theatre has issued a call for submissions for Dramaturgy Lab 2021. This new program focuses on dramaturgy for large scale productions for Edmonton theatre artists. 
Apply by February 26.

Coral Plaza has issued an open artist call for their public art exhibition Visibility in the City. This project aims to share power and amplify the voices of queer and marginalized artists in response to the theme "A future glimpse of equal visibility". Submissions can be emailed to thecoralplaza@gmail.com in addition to the artist submission form.

Jewish Edmonton Stories Online is seeking stories and memories from members of Edmonton's Jewish community that connect to a particular place in the City. They are interested in stories that represent the diversity within the Jewish community, including elders, Sephardim and Mizrahim, women, LGBTQ individuals, and people with disabilities. Submit your stories by March 1.

Annick Press is seeking submissions from Trans/nonbinary/Two-Spirit/genderqueer/gender creative/gender noncompliant folks for their Trans Anthology for Young Readers. Submit by March 1.  

The Play the Fool International Short Film Festival invites filmmakers and other artists to try their hand at clowning on film. Submit by March 7. 

The League of Canadian Poets has opened a call for submissions for its chapbook series You are a Flower Growing off the Side of a Cliff: poems about mental health and resiliency, edited by Rayanne Haines. Submit by March 8. 

The Art Gallery of St. Albert invites Indigenous artists, artist groups, and curators who are interested in exhibiting in the 2022 calendar year to submit an Expression of Interest. Submit by March 12. 

The Works Art & Design Festival seeks proposals for temporary works or installations to animate Sir Winston Churchill Square and other outdoor public spaces (2021 Major Projects). Apply by March 12. 

Hungry Zine is accepting submissions for Issue 00: Home Cooking. Submit by March 15.  

The Beltline Urban Murals Project (BUMP) is now accepting submissions for their 2021 project. Apply by March 26. 

The Calgary Municipal Land Corporation seeks an artist or artists' team to create an artwork or artworks for the new BMO Convention Centre in Calgary, AB. Submit by March 30. 

Artists are invited to apply to the Alberta Foundation for the Arts (AFA) Art Acquisition by Application Program. Apply by April 1.   

The Nina Haggerty Centre for the Arts is accepting applications for the 8th annual RBC Emerging Artists Project. Apply by April 9.  

Crash Course - an interactive multimedia exhibition at the Crash Hotel - is accepting proposals across disciplines from women, feminine identifying, BIPOC, trans, non-binary and all people who have lived experience of misogyny. Submit by April 15.  

The new ROXY Theatre is accepting expressions of interest for the ROXY gallery. Submit by June 30.
