Happenings on the Square

The Edmonton Arts Council, in partnership with the City of Edmonton, programs activity and event happenings in Sir Winston Churchill Square for casual and day-to-day public use between major festivals and civic events. Since August 2011, EAC Churchill Square Happenings programmer, Bob Rasko, has produced a diverse schedule of offerings open to the public.

Festival in a Box Pop-up Parade: Knottwood

Knottwood Parade

August 14, 1-3 pm

Join the Edmonton Arts Council for a parade in your neighborhood! The parade starts at Knottwood Community League at 1:00 pm. You are invited to be a part of the parade! Wear a wacky costume or decorate your bike!

Please follow AHS guidelines at this event by maintaining a 2-metre distance from those outside of your household, washing or sanitizing your hands, and opting to wear a mask if you would like.

This event may be postponed or canceled in case of weather conditions or changes to public health order

Summer City Comeback Concert Series

Summer City Comeback Serie

The EAC is excited to present the Summer City Comeback outdoor concert series, bringing free live music to parks across Edmonton's downtown and select business improvement areas, in partnership with the City of Edmonton. Please note that these events may be cancelled in case of weather conditions or changes to public health orders.

Upcoming shows:

  • August 4: The Bullies of Basin St. at Giovanni Caboto Park (9425 109a Ave) from 7:00-9:00 PM
  • August 6: The Brasstactics at Oliver School (10227 118 Street) from 4:00-6:00 PM
  • August 8: Sangea at Kitchener Park (10230 114 Street) from 2:00-4:00 PM

Downtown Edmonton continues to transform, building a better and more family-friendly gathering place for citizens and visitors. Sir Winston Churchill Square and the Civic Precinct will be impacted by Valley Line LRT construction. Access to businesses on the Square will be maintained during construction. For your safety, please obey posted signs.
