tix on the square

Located on the southwest corner of Churchill Square, TIX on the Square is a not-for-profit box office and gift shop owned and operated by the Edmonton Arts Council.

TIX supports Edmonton artists and artistic works through ticket sales and promotion of local events such as fundraisers, concerts and plays, festivals and lectures.

TIX also serves as a gift shop for locally made art and fine craft, including jewelry, pottery, photography, clothing, books and music.

about tix

Not for profit and rooted in the community, TIX on the Square is Edmonton’s Arts & Culture Concierge. Owned and operated by the Edmonton Arts Council, TIX connects audiences with the opportunity to live local - supporting artists and artistic works throughout the city.

A hub of performing arts information, TIX’s retail location also supports the work of regional visual and craft artists. Located on the southwest corner of Churchill Square, TIX is a vibrant source of unique gifts that reflect Edmonton’s story and landscape.

TIX was created by the Edmonton Arts Council in 1999. Originally intended to operate as a rush ticket booth, it has developed into a vital hub connecting local artists and community groups with audiences.  TIX supports the arts community with a variety of professional services including box office, media relations support, and social media promotion, all for a nominal fee.

As Edmonton’s Arts and Culture Concierge TIX helps audiences navigate the city’s thriving entertainment scene, making it easy to find events, arts organizations and venues, purchase tickets, and more.  Its low service fees, helpful staff, and retail space make TIX an antidote to many of the woes of commercial ticketing options.

In spring 2011, TIX extended its role to connect audiences with Edmonton’s visual and craft artists and began operating a retail space, taking over the operations of The Edmonton City Store. The retail space features a wide range of unique, handcrafted products including pottery, jewelry, photography, fabric arts and more. TIX also showcases books from local authors, CDs by regional musicians, and historic prints from the City of Edmonton Archives.

The Edmonton Arts Council thanks the artists that have graciously agreed to have their photos be part of the Where Local Goes Live billboard campaign. This was part of an initiative to market TIX on the Square, and the EAC programming on Churchill Square.
