Using data from 183 organizations funded by the EAC, this 2025 economic impact analysis shows that arts and festival organizations funded by the EAC generate over $171 million dollars of economic activity annually in Edmonton. Not only that, but these arts organizations also create over 1,400 local jobs each year and mobilize thousands of volunteers in local communities. 

Beyond positive economic impacts, high levels of public engagement, volunteerism, and community participation in the arts underscore the sector’s essential role in fostering belonging, inclusion, and well-being. 

The report demonstrates the arts’ integral role in making Edmonton a vibrant and livable city. The EAC encourages everyone who loves the arts in Edmonton — whether you’re an artist, arts worker or supporter (maybe all three) to read the full report and download the infographic highlighting the impact of the arts in Edmonton. 

From now on, we plan to conduct an economic impact study every four years and use supplemental data in between.
