As we honour this important month and National Indigenous Peoples Day on June 21, the EAC encourages you to gain a deeper understanding of First Nations, Inuit and Métis experiences through their own voices.
Edmonton Celebrates Creativity: $100K Awarded to Local Artists

Nina Haggerty artists unveil new sculptures at the Edmonton Expo Centre

On Friday, April 4th two new sculptures created by artists from the Nina Haggerty Centre for the Arts and Chrysalis: An Alberta Society for Citizens with Disabilities were unveiled at the Edmonton Expo Centre. Proud Flowers and Big Boyd will now be on permanent display to delight visitors.
$100,000 to be awarded to 12 local artists

A shortlist of twelve Edmonton artists will be honoured for their exceptional work in music, visual art, film and literature on May 7, 2025:
City of Edmonton Music Prize: Celeigh Cardinal, King Thief, margø; City of Edmonton Film Prize: Darrin Hagen, Don Depoe, Scott Portingale;
The Eldon + Anne Foote Edmonton Visual Arts Prize: Cheyenne LeGrande ᑭᒥᐊᐧᐣ, Heather Shillinglaw, Raneece Buddan; and Robert Kroetsch – City of Edmonton Book Prize: Benjamin Hertwig, Crystal Gail Fraser, Marilyn Dumont
What's coming up in public art in 2025

2025 is going to be a big year for public art! Over the course of the year, we’re excited to welcome several new public artworks to Edmonton’s public art collection. Edmonton will soon be home to new works by some exceptional local and national artists, including Emily Chu, Alma-Louise Visscher, Heraa Khan, AJA Louden, Coda Girvan, and Marigold Santos.
