Short Term Contract Periods

The EAC facilitates a number of processes that include bringing together different stakeholders for a variety of different meetings. This can include our peer assessment and selection committee processes for our programs and services, formal and informal opportunities for EAC community feedback or other initiatives that support the work of the EAC. To support this work we are looking to recruit administrative professionals to support these in-person and virtual meetings through note-taking services.

Administrative Note-takers provide professional level administrative support work on a short-term assignment basis. Periods of support can range from a period of a few days to a set period of up to four weeks. They work with a range of facilitators, capturing summary level notes to support the work of a variety of different processes.

The Edmonton Arts Council Society (EAC) is seeking nominations of new Board Members to begin terms in June 2024. Board Directors are elected by the membership for a three-year term, for a maximum of two consecutive terms. There are at least two vacancies to be filled this year.

The EAC is a not-for-profit, charitable organization that supports and promotes the arts community in Edmonton guided by Connections & Exchanges: A 10-Year Plan To Transform Arts and Heritage In Edmonton.

Guided by recently revised Bylaws and a renewed governance framework, the Board seeks to recruit individuals that will improve the Board’s collective ability to govern the Society and respond to the diversity and demographics of the community we serve.

The Board is seeking individuals from a wide range of ages and communities, particularly those from Indigenous or equity-seeking backgrounds, persons with disabilities, and those who are Deaf and/or hard-of-hearing. Please contact our staff to discuss needed accommodation(s), such as ASL translation.

Directors must believe in EAC’s mission and commit significant volunteer time and engagement in the governance work of the Board and its committees. Recently, the Board has been meeting 8 – 10 times a year, on Wednesday evenings, and committees have been active on a monthly basis, both in person and virtually.

The deadline for nominations is April 10, 2024, at 11:59 PM MST.

Any member of the Society may be nominated and seconded by any other member. To check your membership status, call 7804242787 or contact info@edmontonarts.ca. To purchase a membership, click here.

Candidates will be reviewed and interviewed by the EAC’s Governance and Nominations Committee, after which the Board may present a preferred slate of candidates to the membership for election or appointment.
