Celebrate with us at the Edmonton Arts Prizes Awards Presentation on Wednesday, May 1 at the Varscona Theatre, 10329 83 Avenue NW. Doors open at 6:30PM with the presentation starting at 7:00PM.
Join us as we recognize twelve Edmonton artists for their exceptional work in music, visual art, film and literature. Each of the 12 artists will receive a prize, with $15,000 going to the primary recipient in each category, and two secondary prizes of $5,000 being awarded to the runners up.

Robert Kroetsch – City of Edmonton Book Prize: Anna Marie Sewell, Jennifer Bowering Delisle, Richard Van Camp
The prizes are coordinated by the Edmonton Arts Council, in partnership with the City of Edmonton, Alberta Media Production Industries Association, Alberta Music, Audrey’s Books, CARFAC Alberta, Edmonton Community Foundation and Writers’ Guild of Alberta.
Join the arts community at this celebratory event over drinks (cash bar), light refreshments and entertainment. This event is free to attend and open to all ages. This event will end around 9 pm. ASL interpretation will be provided.

Theatre Accessibility: There is a fully accessible entrance to the theatre and lobby on the main floor. In the theatre area, there are 197 cushioned seats, as well as 2 two-seat “box” areas and three wheelchair-accessible spaces.
Getting to the Varscona:
Transit: ETS routes 4 and 8 are within a 10-minute walk.
Parking: The Varscona Theatre has access to discounted parking at the Old Strathcona Theatre District Parking Lot on Tommy Banks Way. The lot is located at 11 Tommy Banks Way NW (Westside of 102 Street, between 83 Avenue & 86 Avenue). Our special Varscona rate is $3.00+ GST. The discount is available starting two hours before the event time and is valid for 5 hours. Park your vehicle and head over to one of the two payboxes on the lot. Select the “Varscona” option and enter the coupon code – 3671.
