About
Since its founding in 2001, Montréal-based ensemble Constantinople has promoted the creation of new works incorporating musical elements of diverse musical traditions around the world, drawing from medieval manuscripts to a contemporary aesthetic, passing by Mediterranean Europe to Eastern traditions and New World Baroque. The ensemble has 23 albums to its credit and has created 63 works and travelled to more than 296 cities in 59 countries. The program will feature soprano Hana Blažíková singing arrangements of some of the most beautiful spiritual songs and arias of JS Bach in dialogue with poems of Omar Khayyam, in Persian, set to music by Kiya Tabassian.
