About
GospelFest is Edmonton’s first-ever gospel music festival and showcase, dedicated to celebrating the cultural and historical significance of Black gospel music in Edmonton and beyond. This first-of-its-kind event fosters community engagement through show-stopping music, delectable food, and cultural exchange. In short, GospelFest is about bringing something to Edmonton that should have been here all along. GospelFest is for everyone — come feel the joy.
This year’s festival highlights the grandeur of gospel music through storytelling, song, and sacred traditions rooted in the Black church — including the many art forms it has influenced. Celebrating the intersection of gospel music with classical music, fashion, jazz, ballet, and other artistic expressions, GospelFest 2026 tells the awe-inspiring story of a people who not only endured, but excelled. We are more than what we survived, we are excellence personified.
Join us on June 28th at the Citadel Theatre to celebrate equity, culture, and music in the heart of Edmonton.
