“Haiku is not a shriek, a howl, a sigh, or a yawn; rather, it is the deep breath of life.”
- Santōka Taneda
Doors open at 6:30PM. The event will be from 7 – 9PM. The sign-up will be located at the entrance. This event is free.
Traditional or non-traditional, ALL forms of haiku will be welcome.
You are all cordially invited to attend a magical evening that will hosted by Lisa Mulrooney and one Kayleigh Cline.
The open-mic format will be as follows:
i) Names will be drawn out of a hat.
ii) Every haijin will be expected to repeat their poems twice.
iii)The haijin will read up to 3 haiku.
iv) To keep it interesting and fun, once all of the names have been drawn, we will commence a new round; a process that we will repeat itself until the end of the night.
Along with an intermission, we will also take sporadic breaks to create renga style poems.
Lastly, we will also be accepting submissions for our upcoming Haiku themed anthology.
