Singing Back the Buffalo follows Indigenous visionaries, scientists and communities who are rematriating the buffalo to the heart of the North American plains they once defined, signalling a turning point for Indigenous nations, the ecosystem, and all of our collective survival.
Screening in partnership with the Centre for Literatures in Canada (CLC) and the Association for Literature, Environment, and Culture in Canada (ALECC).
In celebration of their 20th Anniversaries, the CLC and the ALECC are jointly hosting Cross-Pollinations, a conference at the University of Alberta from June 16 – 20, 2026. The theme of the conference is “Cross-Pollinations in Ecological Literary Studies.” More information is available on the conference website.
Filmmaker Tasha Hubbard and producer Jason Ryle will be in attendance for a Q & A hosted by Dr. Jordan Kinder following the screening.
