About
Join the WindRose Trio for their concert Death Metal Chicken on Saturday, May 16th at 2pm at Highlands United Church (11305 64 St NW).
What does death metal, animé, the blues, and French impressionism have in common? Nothing. But that doesn’t stop us from putting it all into one classical music concert! Join us and our special guests, clarinetist Julianne Scott, and saxophonist Charles Stolte, for an eclectic afternoon of music for reed quintet. Included will be the world première of a new work by the composer of the animé series Pokemon Horizons, Edmonton’s own Geoff Li!
Program:
Geoff Li, Animated Portraits (World Première)
Francis Poulenc, Sonata for Clarinet and Bassoon
David Biedenbender, Refraction for reed quintet
~Intermission~
Ruth Gipps, The Piper of Dreams for solo oboe
Jeff Scott, Homage to Paradise Valley for reed quintet
Joining forces with us will be Edmonton Symphony Orchestra’s principal clarinetist Julianne Scott and Dr. Charles Stolte on saxophone.
