Looking for a unique experience that will make you say ​“wow!” this June? Look no further! Nextfest Emerging Arts Festival is back on 124th Street. Nextfest returns for its 30th Anniversary, better and more exciting than ever! Experience eleven days of artistic expression and experimentation unleashed. Edmonton’s longest-running multi-disciplinary festival supporting and showcasing emerging artists runs from June 5th to 15th at the Roxy Theatre and surrounding venues.

Take a risk on new works, make some memories, and see creations that come straight from the minds of the next generation at Edmonton’s most unique annual multi disciplinary arts festival. With 40+ events, performances, showcases, and parties by over 500 artists your next ​‘best experience ever’ is waiting for you.

What’s happening at Nextfest 2025?

  • A Nite at the Circus & A Celebration of Superstitions: Nextfest’s legendary Nite Clubs: pop-up style performance parties of subversive and themed art take over every nook and cranny of the Roxy space. From the lobbies, to the rooftop, to the dance floor to the elevator- join us as we party late into the night with live performances, roving artists, music, and dancing.
  • Rats, Punk Rock, Peat Moss & A Christmas Elf: A line-up of fully staged theatre performances, progress showings, and play readings from up-and-coming local playwrights première on the Lorne Cardinal, Nancy Power, and Roxy Rehearsal Hall stages.
  • Unmissable One-Night Only Events: Nextfest partners with our friends at the iHuman Youth Society and Stretcher’s Situations to present two must-see multi-disciplinary showcases.
  • A Brunch Bop & A Free Outdoor Concert: A variety of vibrant, original, and live music along 124th Street!
  • Local & National Emerging Dancers and Choreographers: Good Women Dance Collective returns to Nextfest to curate two main dance programs and a series of work-in-progress dance pieces.
  • Visual Art Galleries: Oil, acrylics, wood panel, and canvas artwork created by up-and-coming visual artists will be featured on all three of the Roxy’s gallery walls.
  • SO MUCH MORE! A new film festival, new plays by high school artists, a multi-disciplinary High School Nite Club, free daily workshops, an open music jam, our rousing Opening Ceremonies, plus play readings and progress showings of new scripts by Edmonton artists.
