On September 27 and 28, from 12 — 4 pm, join the Edmonton Arts Council in Churchill Square for free family arts programming in celebration of Alberta Culture Days!

Enjoy a variety of family-friendly entertainers both afternoons:

Saturday, September 27

  • 12:001:00 pm ‑The internationally acclaimed Dancing Cree
  • 2:00 — 4:00 pm — Funk the Matriarchy, a female-fronted, seven-piece band dedicated to amplifying the voices of women in funk, soul, and R&B.

Sunday, September 28:

  • 12:00 — 1:00 pm — The internationally acclaimed Dancing Cree
  • 2:00 — 4:00 pm — Mbira Renaissance Band, an Afro-Diasporan band, will bring Mbira grooves that make you move!

  • On Saturday, September 27, stop by the Edmonton Arts Council Shop & Services to view an exhibition by the Indigenous Empowerment Fashion Collective (September 10 – 29, 2025) featuring the work of Indigenous designers and artists Heather Bouchier, Jamie Medicine Crane and Rhonda Johnson. 
  • Join the Citadel Theatre for Alberta Culture Days, happening September 26 – 28, 2025! Your Family-Friendly Centre for a fun-filled weekend of free arts and culture activities for all ages – including a wardrobe sale, pre-show chats, a Wizard of Oz Family Film Festival, and so much more. 
  • Celebrate Alberta Culture Days by enjoying a FREE visit to the Royal Alberta Museum from September 27 – 28! See millions of years of natural and cultural history, get up close and personal with live insects, and play all day in the Children’s Gallery. And if you’ve been waiting to check out Orcas: Our Shared Future, now’s your chance.
  • On September 20, 27 and 28, free, art-filled programming is waiting for you at the Art Gallery of Alberta. The AGA will have several days of programming ranging from performances by francophone and Indigenous artists, a talk by a local artist and a hands-on workshop! There will be so many ways for you to interact with art, learn about different cultures in the Alberta art scene and discover the artists within yourself.
