Emerging Artist Presents Madeline Vandersluys

Madeline Vandersluys is an Edmonton-based trombonist who recently completed their Bachelor of Music at MacEwan University.

Their experience in performing ranges from big band swing to modern pop music.

Influenced by the likes of Melba Liston and Rob McConnell, Madeline seeks to explore new territory for the trombone while paying homage to those who have come before. Their quartet is composed of musicians and friends who have been playing together for several years. Madeline values the community, connection, and collaboration that come with music making. Through a set which includes original compositions and arrangements, they hope to engage and connect with audiences while expanding avenues of musical exploration.
