Join New Moon Folk Club for their presentation of Lennie Gallant on Friday, February 6 at St. Basil’s Cultural Centre, 10819 71 Avenue NW. Doors open at 6:30PM, performance begins at 7:30PM.

Lennie Gallant, a celebrated East Coast singer-songwriter, has released fifteen albums of original music, earning him numerous awards and nominations, including JUNOs, Les Prix Éloizes, and East Coast Music Awards. Known for his poetic lyrics and emotional depth, Gallant’s songs are often described as true slices of life.” His multimedia production, Searching for Abegweit, toured extensively with over 190 shows, and his song Peter’s Dream was inducted into the Canadian Songwriters Hall of Fame. A versatile performer, Gallant has toured internationally, sharing stages with artists like Lucinda Williams, Patti Griffin, and the late Jimmy Buffett, with whom he co-wrote two songs for Buffett’s final album. His music has even traveled to space, with his album When We Get There orbiting Earth aboard the International Space Station. Gallant’s recent works include the critically acclaimed Time Travel and an original Christmas album. Alongside his musical achievements, he is a member of the Order of Canada and is recognized for his humanitarian efforts. With his partner Patricia Richard, he also performs as the Francophone duo Sirène et Matelot, achieving significant radio success in French-speaking markets. 

First Set: Marten Borch 

Marten Borch is a seasoned multi-instrumentalist and singer-songwriter with over two decades of captivating performances. Rooted in folk music, his sound blends diverse influences from artists like Natalie McMaster, Pink Floyd, and Linkin Park. Known for his heartfelt authenticity, Marten’s music takes listeners on an emotional journey, from joy to sorrow, anger to beauty. A member of The Borch Brothers, he has performed at major festivals such as North Country Fair, Taste of Edmonton, and Robson Valley Folk Festival, leaving audiences deeply moved.

Advanced General Admission: $35
Advanced Student Admission: $25
Student admission is only available for full-time students, and youth aged 13 – 17. Valid Student ID may be requested at the door.

Children aged 12 and under receive free admission at the door

No physical or electronic tickets will be provided. You will need to have your order confirmation ready at the door. 

Free parking is available on-site. ETS routes 9 and 701 are within a 5‑minute walk.
