Taking place October 15 – 19, 2025, LitFest wil once again transform Edmonton, Alberta, into a creative hub for readers and writers who love true stories in all their forms. Over five inspiring days, audiences will enjoy author readings, panels, and workshops with some of the most exciting voices in nonfiction today.
Nonfiction is everywhere and it is for all of us,” says Ellen Kartz, LitFest’s Executive Director. This year’s festival celebrates the universal experiences that bring us together.”

  • Author Paul Myers and his book John Candy: A Life in Comedy
  • New memoirs from Chyana Marie Sage, Quill Christie-Peters and Vinh Nguyen
  • Writing workshop with poet Amber Dawn
  • Canadian curling sensation John Cullen and his new book Curling Rocks!

The 2025 program features bestselling authors, award-winning journalists, emerging voices, and local storytellers, covering topics including social justice, science, personal journeys, and political change. With events for all ages, LiFest invites both seasoned readers and the curious to join in.
