About
Join Mill Creek Colliery Band for their presentation of Made in Canada on Saturday, November 1 at St. Andrews United Church, 9915 148 St NW. Performance begins at 7:30PM.
Join the Mill Creek Colliery Band for their first concert of the 2025 – 2026 Season “Made in Canada” for an evening of all Canadian Music loved by all! This will be an extra special evening featuring the World Premier of “Alberta Habitats and At-Risk Species” composed with support from the Alberta Foundation of the Arts by local composer, Kristin Flores. The evening’s events will include a panel-style discussion with Kristin and the Alberta Wilderness Association and, of course, swag and door prizes! Don’t miss out and get your tickets now!
Due to the volume of colliery bands, hearing protection for younger children is recommended.
The Mill Creek Colliery Band (MCCB) seeks to promote the British brass band tradition in Western Canada, employing all the traditional instruments of that ensemble. The name of the band pays homage to the historical connection between 19th century working class northern England, and the brass bands which flourished during that time. The name also refers to a prominent ravine area in Edmonton, itself the site of important coal mining activity in the early days.
