Provincial Archives of Alberta 37th Annual Film Night Event

The Provincial Archives of Alberta (PAA) is proud to present the 37^th edition of its annual Film Night, featuring the The People at Filmwest: Cooperative Filmmaking in 1970s Edmonton.

Join us to celebrate Edmonton film pioneers Filmwest Associates, a cooperative production company that launched the careers of several Albertan filmmakers by producing industrial safety films; creating documentaries and shorts that focused on First Nations, women, and the environment; and distributing films by independent filmmakers across Canada and around the world. ​“The People at Filmwest,” as they credited themselves, brought professional skills to a wide range of commercial and personal projects while furthering the art of cinema in Alberta.

Doors: 6:15 p.m. Event: 7:00 p.m.
